Treatment Focus: Children and Adolescents, Play Therapy, Sandtray, Attachment Disorders, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, ASD
I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with an undergraduate background in Psychology and from Michigan State University with my Masters in Social Work (MSW). I have always been passionate about working with children and learning how to understand the world from their unique perspectives. I have worked with a diverse array of children and adolescents through my school social work and play therapy experiences. I have experience working with children who are experiencing ASD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and attachment injuries. I am pursuing certification and training in different play therapy modalities and incorporating them into a strengths-based perspective.
It is important for me to build strong therapeutic relationships and use unconditional positive regard to help children and adolescents heal and grow in a safe and non judgmental environment. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space where clients can fully express their emotions, learn new skills, build on their strengths, and feel empowered to navigate life challenges. I create treatment plans based on the unique needs and intersecting identities of each individual. I aspire to end the stigma surrounding mental health and bring awareness to social justice issues that impact individuals and families from different backgrounds.
