I believe every person is unique, with their own strengths and difficulties, and will respond differently to different therapeutic techniques. As your therapist, my goal is to work alongside you to help you become the very best version of yourself in whatever way works best! My techniques draw from a person-centered and strength-based approach, while incorporating aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. However, I strongly believe that creating genuine connections with each client through empathy and understanding is one of the most important aspects of any therapeutic relationship. I will strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and trusting space to help you along your journey!
I received my bachelor's degree in psychology from Saginaw Valley State University, and recently graduated with my Master of Social Work degree from Walden University, where I also received an added certificate for work with children and families. My experience includes residential foster care with children experiencing both mental and behavioral problems, child welfare with families needing help to overcome a variety of obstacles, and mental health services assisting adults overcome difficult life situations including physical health, substance use, and domestic violence. I am also a certified Family Psychoeducation facilitator. While my passion lies in working with children, I am committed to working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
