My understanding of therapy comes from a person-centered background. My aim is to provide you with an empowering, judgment free environment so you may feel safe during our time together. We will look at the challenges you face, and figure out how to best work through them. I use a variety of techniques to aid in my practice such as those found in cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma informed therapy, mindfulness, and positive psychology. I have also completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I have worked with those who have struggled with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, adjustment related disorders, stress, trauma, survivors of sexual, physical and/or emotional abuse, and grief/loss.
I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Michigan University, and bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Communication at Oakland University. During my internship, I spent time at a women's shelter working with survivors of domestic abuse and interpersonal partner violence.
I look forward to meeting you, and would like to thank you in advance for allowing me to help guide you through this time in your life.
